Steve Baczkowski: baritone/tenor saxophone/bass clarinet

The Dim Bulb, a live trio recording with Paul Flaherty and Chris Corsano,
was released in 2005 and received much acclaim. Besides Corsano and
Flaherty, Baczkowski has recently performed with likes of Thurston Moore's
Dream Aktion Unit at FIMAV, Tony Conrad, Robert Dick, Tatsuya Nakatani,
Groundtruther (with Bobby Previte and Charlie Hunter), Joe McPhee and many
others. In the summer of '05 his quintet Buffalo Suicide Prevention Unit,
released their debut recording on Realm of Records. In March '06,
Baczkowski organized and performed with the 30-piece William Parker Buffalo
Orchestra. He and drummer Ravi Padmanabha recently released Tongue Rust and
Lead Moth on Utech records and have a forthcoming live duo recording which
will see release on the Italian vinyl label Qbico in the Fall. Baczkowski
is currently the Music Director at Hallwalls Contemporay Arts Center in
Buffalo, N.Y.

Will Redman: Composer/percussionist and improvisor

Baltimore to Buffalo with some time in England. Helped start the Open Music
Ensemble and Foundation (dedicated to improvisation and graphic scores)
in Buffalo. Drums and percussion past and present with, John Dierker, Todd
Whitman, Bill Sack, International Soundscape Internationale, Sean Meehan,
John Hughes, Augenmusik, Jonathan Vincent, Jack Wright, Bird With Strings,
Steve Baczkowski, Evan Rapport, Krill, Bob Wagner, among others.
Composition with Stuart S. Smith, Michael Finnissy, and Jeff Stadelman;
computer music with Cort Lippe; percussion with Tom Goldstein and Kevin
Norton. Film/sound collaboration with Joanna Raczynska "10th Lesson" has
been shown recently in Baltimore, Buffalo, London, Karlsruhe. New
composition Book was premiered at Hallwalls in April 2006 by 12-piece
version of the Open Music Ensemble. PhD in Music Composition in 2006 from
University at Buffalo.
