The Pandas with a fondness for the music of Ennio Morricone, Astrud Gilberto, and Kraftwerk, generate space age instrumental music. At their base, layers of percolating keyboards and layed back drumming, augmented by rapid fire drum loops. The Pandas sound is characterized by lengthy guitar and bass compositions that move and breath in amoebic fashion. At times they engage in high powered sonic excursions and at times play delicately sentimental instrumental passages. Also utilizing glockenspiel, melodica, synths, glitchy low fi samples, and live original video projections, The Pandas are a must see for fans of Mum, Stereolab and Tortoise.
