the bush-cheney 'top gun' focus group

ian maxwell mackinnon and eric zinman are proud to invite you, as a special, prescreened american, to president george w. bush and vice president dick cheney's executive focus group for a project with the highest stakes for the future of our country: a remake of the 1986 blockbuster 'top gun.' made in collaboration with the u.s. air force and hollywood powerhouse jerry bruckheimer, this film is a sign of the white house's faith, commitment, and leadership in advancing america's ideals at home and abroad. taking our hero on a secret mission to iraq, this movie will boost u.s. military recruitment, convince skeptics of our noble cause, and demonstrate to the muslim world what freedom and liberty are all about. the president and vice president have decided to run the focus group themselves after hearing reactions to the rough cut. mr. bush and mr. cheney will act out new and corrected scenes and play songs from the soundtrack, with mr. cheney accompanying the president on piano.

this production is the third in a trilogy presented by mackinnon and zinman. 'the show was hilarious' is what the boston herald said about 2003's 'a bush-cheney christmas.' the boston phoenix named last year's 'the apotheosis of george w. bush' a 'pick of the week.' and the boston globe, describing a preview appearance for that show, said 'mackinnon's performance transcended cartoonish parody to achieve a provocative, unsettling humor.'
