solos, duos, trios

boston-based experimental jazz and new music champions jon damian and john voigt will be joined by montreal-based composer and violinist malcolm goldstein for an evening of over-the-top compositions and performance art pieces. the zeitgeist gallery is not a big enough space to contain this kind of collaboration. the audience may need to stand outside!

malcolm goldstein, violinist /composer: his "soundings" improvisations have received international acclaim for "reinventing violin playing," extending the range of tonal/sound-texture possibilities of the instrument and revealing new dimensions of expressivity.

jon damian, guitar: his performances range from working with bill frisell to luciano pavarotti, the boston symphony orchestra under seiji ozawa to johnny cash, and he is the inventor of the rubbertellie.

john voigt, bass: "in his hands the bass turns into a real talker, a mythical creature, a mouthpiece for the history of man." (the improvisor).

production: mary curtin
