Joanie 4 Jackie is an alternative distribution system for women
moviemakers. Every woman who sends her short film or video to Joanie 4
Jackie receives a Chainletter tape in the mail. Founded in 1995 by
performing artist and moviemaker Miranda July (ME AND YOU AND EVERYONE
WE KNOW), Joanie 4 Jackie is currently screening and distributing over
100 movies, and receiving more every day.
This screening will present one special compilation tape, THE NEWBORN
CHAINLETTER, full of short films from women all over. From charming
amateur work to innovative professional pieces, the videos are
inspiring for all potential film/video makers.
