Dark Days Bright Nights
in association with Boston Underground Film Festival

Dark Days Bright Nights is a multi-media show, combing film, music, and performance. The project consists of a series of short films written, directed, shot and edited by Devin Febbroriello. These shorts are accompanied by a live orchestrated soundtrack, provided by Mike Gamble’s Multi-Meteorchestra. Throughout the show there will also be performances from singers, actors and comedians. The purpose of this synthesis is to experiment with shifting the focus between the three mediums. Dark Days Bright Nights will hopefully be the first of many perfomances, in an effort to experiment with merging different forms of art.

The Multi-Meteorchestra is: Mike Gamble-composer, guitar, cello Tony Barba-flute, clarinet Zach Lucas- soprano saxophone, flute Haruka i forget her last name- electronic and acoustic violin Mary Ann Ramos- cello Jesse Neuman- trumpet, loops, sound design Tony Kieraldo- piano, toy piano, keyboards Noah Jarrett- acoustic and electric bass Shawn Trail- marimba, percussion Dave Treut- drumset Performances by Leah Ann Pedra, Luke Simmons, Mookie Blaiklock, Tina Dixon, and Jamie Kotmair.

the following films will be shown:
Photocopy Cha Cha

Diary of an Ordinary Man

3play continues its once-a-month pre-Fringe residency with it’s
freeflowing mix of originals and free improvisation. Featuring Lello
Molinari on acoustic bass, with his rocking groove, deeply melodic
approach and innovative use of strangely beautiful textures. Ralph Rosen,
on the drum kit, flows effortlessly through a wild mix of feels and quick
rhythmic changes. Ralph also contributes unique “drummer/composer” charts,
where harmony is interpreted from a whole other perspective and the tunes
always swing. Josh Rosen’s freewheeling piano improvisations range from
densely textured explosions to burning melodic lines to quiet repose. He
also contributes compositions, some long and involved, some short, sweet
and to the point. 3play maintains the possibility of freedom at all times
- the music changes on a dime, and with keen ears (and a little luck)
magic happens…
